Driving Sustainability Through Digital InnovationA Milestone Achievement for Novocertus

Niall Brady

As the founder of Novocertus, I am thrilled to share an incredible milestone in our journey toward energy efficiency and sustainability. Our work with the National Museum of Ireland (NMI) has not only garnered measurable results but also significant recognition. Novocertus has been honoured with the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI) 2024 Energy Award in the Digital Technology in Construction and Buildings category.

This achievement is a testament to the transformative power of digital technology in addressing real-world challenges.

A Green Transformation at the National Museum of Ireland

When we partnered with the NMI, our mission was clear: enhance their energy management and reduce their carbon footprint while supporting their cultural preservation goals. By implementing an Internet of Things (IoT)-based Energy Monitoring System, the Museum embarked on a digital transformation journey that would not only boost efficiency but also foster sustainability.

In just 18 months, the results have been nothing short of remarkable:

  • 32% reduction in natural gas usage
  • 12% decrease in electricity consumption
  • 28% drop in CO2 emissions

Our NovoseeTM solution played a pivotal role, helping the Museum identify over 100 energy-saving opportunities—all with minimal capital investment. These changes weren’t just about data; they were about fostering a culture of awareness and collaboration among staff and management.

Innovation Meets Sustainability

This project proves that innovation and sustainability are not mutually exclusive. The NMI’s adoption of digital energy management has delivered a cost-effective solution for ongoing monitoring and continuous improvement. Even better, this approach creates a ripple effect, inspiring greater engagement from stakeholders and demonstrating what’s possible when technology meets purpose.

The Museum’s success isn’t just about their own energy savings—it’s a blueprint for other public bodies in Ireland. With the nation’s sustainability goals in sharp focus, their example underscores how digital transformation can play a pivotal role in mobilizing communities and driving impactful change.

Leading the Way Toward a Greener Future

The recognition from SEAI validates the hard work and innovation of the Novocertus team and our clients. It also reminds us why we do what we do: to create meaningful change through energy efficiency, innovation, and collaboration.

At Novocertus, we believe that every building, organization, and individual has the power to contribute to a sustainable future. The NMI’s story is proof of this belief, and we are excited to continue helping organizations unlock their energy-saving potential.

A special thank you to the National Museum of Ireland for their trust and partnership in this journey. Together, we’re not just saving energy—we’re setting a new standard for sustainability in cultural institutions.

For those who want to explore how digital technology can revolutionize your energy management strategy, let’s connect. The future is green, and it starts with innovation.
